In 1963, TUNZE® developed the revolutionary first protein skimmer with its own pump and air generator. In 2005, the first TUNZE® Flash Skimming models with powerful air injection and low-wattage consumption came onto the market.
Today we designate our low-profile, ultra-efficient skimmers for tighter spaces as high performance automatic DOC skimmers because all models achieve very high standards for quality, performance and ease of use. The DOC Skimmer 9460 delivers an enormous air output of more than 5,000 l/h (1,321 USgal./h) with a very compact design and a water output of more than 3,500 l/h (925 USgal./h). It can be easily used in any aquarium with a cabinet system, but also in professional systems or aquarium stores up to 6,000 liters (1,585 USgal.) of water, the water level can vary between 150 and 250 mm (5.9" to 9.8"). It performs with the amazing TUNZE® Hydrofoamer 9460.040 skimmer pump that ensures foam production and water circulation at an energy consumption of only 58 W.
